Rated as one of Consumer Reports‘s top three car
seats in 2005 for safety and ease of use, the Triumph 5 convertible car seat is
a sound investment. The only car seat parents ever have to buy, this model
starts out rear-facing for infants between 5 to 30 pounds and installs facing
forward for toddlers from 20 to 40 pounds.
The non-twisting 5-point harness is easy for parents to fasten and a visual
verification on the buckle ensures it is secure. A tension knob on the side
adjusts the lap belt while the upper straps are equipped with a feature called
Memory Harness, which expands while strapping a child into the seat but then
safely snaps back to the original tension. Periodic height adjustments to the
harness system are easily done from the front of the seat without requiring it
to be removed from the car and can be set to three different height positions.
Five reclining positions angle the seat so toddlers can take a nap on the
road comfortably without slumping forward. The extra-plush seat pad also
cushions baby nicely and the subtle black and gray fabric cleans up easily.

We bought this car seat when my daughter was 14 months old. She is now 3
years old and we are still using this seat.
This is our second child and I had a different convertible carseat for my first.
We also have a 3rd convertible that we use in my husband's car. So we have 3
different convertible seats that we have used extensively in the last 5 years.
By far this is the best convertible seat I have seen!
I love the way everything adjusts so easily on this seat. From the straps to the
tilt of the seat. The car seat has held up beautifully for the last 2 years. It
has been very easy to put my daughter in the seat and buckle her up. On the
other two convertible seats I always felt like the straps were lost in the seat
when I would set her in there. Not with the Triumph. The seat is also very
plush, so she appears very comfortable. I've never heard a complaint from her.
I'm not sure why this seat has the negative reviews from the other users. I
didn't have any of the problems that they are having.
We hope to keep our daughter in this seat until next year (4 years old), when
she will graduate into a booster!

I'm SOOO glad I found this car
seat!, October 6, 2005
How could I find a convertible and/or booster seat that would fit my little 2
door Honda Civic hatchback? It was a nightmare. It seems like all of today's
carseats are made only for newer cars with the tether system, and my car is 12
years old. I bought several car seats and I kept having to return them to the
store. I concluded that I would simply have to purchase a larger car, but after
several weeks of car shopping, I realized I couldn't afford to.
The answer? Go to www.carseatdata.org
Yes, this website actually lists information about SPECIFIC car models and
specific car seats. Information submitted by consumers like you and me. Guess
what? Everyone said that Evenflo Triumph 5 is a perfect fit in the Honda 2 door!
I was sceptical, because Triumph 5 looks huge. It is heavier than other models.
At BRus the helpful sales associate was also skeptical. She suggested I also try
out a Graco which looked smaller. Result? The Graco didn't fit snugly but the
Evenflo Triumph is a purrrfect fit.
Now my daughter rides snugly. BTW, Consumer Reports gave this model a very
favorable safety rating. However, I have NOT tried this as a rear-facing
convertible seat. I have only used it for front-facing. My daughter is a year
old so it is okay for her to ride front-facing [and she soaks up a lot of
scenery that way!]

I Love this seat -
only a few minor setbacks, January 19, 2006
We bought this seat for my son when he out grew the baby carrier at 4
months!! (he was 20 lbs and 28") He still had to be rear facing though till he
was 1 year. This seat was awsome!! I really liked how you can adjust the straps
from the side knob, its very easy to adjust the height of the straps too with
out having to re-thread the entire process, and its a very comfortable seat as
well. In addition to this Consumer Reports rated the seat safer than the more
expensive Britax Roundabout
There were only a few pitfalls with this seat. That was that its a bit heavier
than some seats, the straps can get a bit tangled if your not carefull, and can
be somewhat confusing to a 2 1/2 yr old just learning to get into his seat by
himself. As with any seat there will always be a learning curve to it.
I would buy this seat agian in a heart beat!! My son is now 3 1/2 and we plan on
passing it on to our youger child.
LOVE IT ...........
LOVE IT!!!!! (=, January 19, 2006
This car seat installed great and is easy to use, once you read the owners
manual. Also it was ranked VERY GOOD on the consumer reports for the Crash Test
Rating. Nice style and great buy!!! HIGHLY Recommend.
Wonderful seat,
well worth the money!!!, January 15, 2006
After much research, my husband and I decided to purchase the Triumph 5 for
our 5 month old son, and we are very glad that we did. The seat is very easy to
use... one handed recline and the memory harness makes is very easy to get my
little one in and out without any trouble. I was a little nervous moving him
from his infant seat, however the Triumph 5 fits him great, and will comfortably
grow with him. Spend the extra money on this seat, and you will be glad that you
did!
Great Seat!,

My husband and I received this seat at our baby shower for our 4th baby. It's
wonderful, easy to use (once you get used to the how the belts work), and our
baby is very comfortable in it. We used it when we took her home from the
hospital and at 8.5 months, she's still in it and content. Obviously we've only
used it rear facing so I can't review how it would be forward facing but we've
had no problems placing it in our Taurus wagon or our Grand Voyager.
