An economical choice, the Alpha Omega Elite carries your
child throughout his young life so you'll never need more than one car seat.
Parents can install the car seat to be rear-facing for 5- to 35-pound babies,
set it to a forward-facing position when the child weighs between 20 and 40
pounds, and then use it as a booster seat when kids weigh between 30 and 100
pounds. The Alpha Omega Elite secures using the LATCH system, which complies
with current federal safety standards. The five-point harness restraint is easy
to adjust and the chest clip is a cinch to open and close in a hurry. Padding on
the shoulder straps, back, and headrest; fold-down armrests, and three reclining
positions ensure your child's comfort. There is even a built-in cup holder
alongside the base for a sippy cup. For parents' convenience, the harness has
four different heights and the headrest moves with the straps so rethreading the
straps is never necessary. The Alpha Omega Elite comes in a neutral black and
gray tweed-style fabric that matches the interior of most vehicles.

From the Manufacturer
Designed to safely accommodate a child from birth to age
eight and beyond, the Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat is LATCH equipped
for both rear-facing and forward-facing travel. As recommended by the American
Academy of Pediatrics, this car seat includes a 35-pound turnabout that keeps
baby rear-facing until at least age one. The car seat then converts to face
forward for toddlers 22-40 pounds, and finally, as baby grows, the car seat
converts again into a belt-positioning booster for...

This seat saved my daughters
life., October 29, 2003
I was in a devastating car accident a month ago, in which I lost my wife, and
mother to 2 lovley daughters. My oldest daughter, who was seated on the same
side of the vehicle as my wife only received a broken leg. I beleive that if she
were in any other seat she too would be dead, or at least injured more seriuos.

Lots of features, well made,
QUITE large for back seat!, April 8, 2005
This car seat is of excellent quality. The drawbacks I can see is that the
recline function does not recline far enough to compensate for the slope of the
seat for the car seat to sit with the marker "level to the ground" like it
should in the rear facing position. This car seat is rather large and I have to
move the front passenger seat up in our SUV (Nissan Murano) quite considerably
in order to put the car seat in facing rearward. Placing the rolled up towels
underneath the base makes the car seat level, but it also requires the front
seat be pushed forward even further. I test fit it in the forward facing
position in the back seat and the car seat fits just fine that way. I wouldn't
suggest buying this for an infant if you have a smaller back seat unless you
want your front seat passengers spending the first year of baby's life with
their knees in the dashboard. The Nissan's back seat is pretty large but perhaps
it would fit better in, say, a Suburban?
I don't like the fact that the owner's manual has diagrams that show the level
marks perpendicular to the ground with the car seat reclined while sitting in
the back seat without towels. They could have designed it better in my opinion
so I wouldn't have to use the towels.
(The level marks are located on the seatbelt harnesses that are visible in the
picture of the product if you were wondering).

own 2 and love them,
January 15, 2006
We own 2 of these car seats, one from 2003 and one from 2004. Like many of
the reviews state, the harness does sometimes get twisted, but if you take the
time to familiarize yourself with the instructions and the seat it is very easy
to correct. I have taken the seats apart from top to bottom twice for cleaning
and have never had any problems getting them back together correctly. We use
LATCH in our minivan, but have used the seat belt system in other cars with no
safety concerns. The 2004 model is easier to adjust for harness height and I
like that feature. My 2 yr old son is growing taller so quickly that I am able
to adjust the height without taking the seat apart or un-latching it from the
van.

Too big and too difficult,
January 8, 2006
This car seat does not fit in the rear facing position unless you own an SUV
or minivan. My husband and I both tried to fit this seat in the rear facing
position into several cars with no luck. The slope of the seat is so steep that
it does not fit into a normal size car. We finally were able to fit this seat
into one of our cars (after struggling with it and stuffing a towel underneath
to make it sit level)when our baby was ready to be forward facing. After using
it for a while, I found the straps constantly twist around making it difficult
to tighten. Additionally, the design of the "puzzle buckle" doesn't do much but
make it difficult to strap a wiggling toddler into the seat.
Another issue is the strap at the bottom used to tighten the straps at the top.
Well it works, but only tightens on side and then you have to keep adjusting the
straps up top until it tightens both sides. It's really more of a hassle than
anything. I do not recommend this car seat unless you have unlimited time and
patience.

love this carseat~!@,
January 3, 2006
im very happy with this carseat. it has everything that i need in it and its
very easy to clean and looks very comfortable. we had an older version of the
omega elite that had a overhead where you down and just click which worked great
but when our daughter got older she learned how to get out of it every time no
matter much i tighten the straps so i went shopping for a new carseat and found
this one it had good and bad reviews and seems like everyone was complaining
about the size of this carseat. truthfully i think its just perfect. i drive a
chevy avalanche and it is just the right size for it. granted if we had to make
it rearfacing it would be too big but i dont think that any carseat that is
convertable would fit nicely unless you drive a mini van. plus my daughter loves
the feature with the cup holder. and most importantly it keeps her in her
carseat now and she cant figure out how to get of of this one since its a 5
point and you have to unbuckle two instead of one. so i think this is a great
one and i have a 1 month old now and once he gets old enough or he gets to be 20
lbs then im buying another one.

DON'T BUY THIS SEAT,
January 3, 2006
I didn't want to spend over $200 on a car seat so I purchased the Alpha Omega
Elite, thinking it would be a good purchase. I couldn't have been more
disappointed in a product. On the Alpha Omega Elite, the buckle was so difficult
to use and the straps kept getting twisted. In addition, my son's head kept
falling forward whenever he was sleeping (in the rear-facing position). This was
so frustrating because someone would have to sit in the back seat to hold up his
head. After doing more research, I went back to Babies R Us and purchased the
Britax Marathon. The buckle is easy to use, the straps don't get tangled, and my
son's head rests comfortably on the back of the seat whenever he is napping.
Plus, it fits perfectly in my Pontiac Grand Am. I wish I would have purchased
the Britax Marathon seat first. It was well worth the extra $100. Don't go cheap
when it comes to a car seat. Spend the extra money to get a QUALITY product. You
won't be disappointed!
