Valuable inventions for today’s busy parents, car
seat/carrier combinations, such as the Graco Snugride, enable Mom to move a
sleeping baby from car to house (or vice versa) without having to wake him. An
adjustable car seat base installs and remains in the car for convenience. The
carrier snaps into the base and unclips by lifting the lever behind its top. A
level indicator on the side ensures parents that the car seat is locked into its
base at the correct angle. The car seat is equipped with LATCH (Lower Anchor and
Tether for Children), which is the current safety standard for motor vehicle
travel. Other safety features include a five-point harness with a two-piece
chest clip to hold baby snugly inside. Harness slots at two different heights
allow the seat to grow with baby. A built-in 180-degree adjustable canopy shades
baby from behind or rotates forward to darken in front of his face while
sleeping; however, it is not wide enough to cover both areas at once. The
ergonomic handle offers a comfortable grip and rotates to an upright position
for carrying (although it sometimes gets hung up on the canopy during rotation).
Comfort features for baby include a machine-washable padded seat and head
support in a black-and-tan plaid accented with coordinating black cotton and tan
mesh fabrics. This carrier is for newborns weighing up to 20 pounds and
measuring 26 inches or less in height. --Cristina Vaamonde

Please read your manuals,
July 1, 2004
Please take the time to read the carseat manual and your vehicle's manual -
even if you're planning on taking the carseat to an Inspection Center. After
we'd installed the carseat, the inspector removed the metal clip - saying it
wasn't necessary. Soon afterwards, our carseat began shifting and leaning to one
side. For our vehicle, the metal clip is required. The inspector wanted to
install the seat in the center backseat - but in our vehicle, 2002 Chevrolet
Trailblazer, a carseat cannot be installed there. Please take the time to read
your manuals to be sure your carseat is installed correctly and in the safest
location. Don't let someone else's mistakes endanger your precious sweetheart.

Experienced parents using this
again, March 2, 2005
My wife and I used this for our little girl (now 2) until about 9 months ago.
We never had any problems with it and found that not only was it very functional
but it also was built exceptionally well. The proof of that was the fact that we
checked our stroller and car seat on a flight out of town. Our stroller came
back to us bent and with a few parts needing replaced but the car seat came back
with no visible signs of any wear or tear. We're expecting our 2nd child in the
mid May of this year and we will use this for her as well. We spent the extra
money to get another base for our other car and I suggest the same for everyone
else as it makes things much easier.

Sixth kid - best car seat ever,
January 17, 2006
We are on our sixth baby in six years and have purchased a ton of car seats.
This is by far the best I have ever seen - it is so easy to buckle the baby in,
and to tighten and loosen the straps, and it goes in and out of the base so
smoothly. It is lightweight incomparison to some we have tried and the handle
makes carrying it as easy as expected with something so big weighed down with a
baby. It is a little more expensive than some but so worth it. I wish we would
have bought this with our first - it would have been the last.

The Handle, January 17, 2006
I really like this carseat. The look and the comfort is great. My only
complaint is that my handle didn't release in the up and down positions with
ease. It could be a tug of war sometimes. It actually ended up jamming on me. It
may have just been a defect with my carsear. However, if the manufacturer just
addresses this issue, this will be the perfect carseat.

Excellent car seat,
January 15, 2006
Excellent because:
-Rated one of the safest by Consumer Reports
-Nice color for boy or girl
-It looks really comfortable for baby
-My daughter loves being in it (anything that keeps them happy and not crying is
a plus for me!)
Why only 4 stars? Only gripe:
-You must use both hands every time you want to move the handle because it
doesn't go up or down using only one hand.
That's enough for me to give it only 4 stars. It would be much more convenient
if I could move the carrying handle with one hand while holding baby in the
other.

Great seat - but short
lifespan, January 9, 2006
This was a great car seat when we took our son home from the hospital. He was
5 weeks premature and this seat offered him all the support he needed and was
very convenient for us transporting him to and from the car and was great to use
with the matching Graco stroller. Unfortunately at our sone 4 month checkup we
were told he was much too tall for this seat. He was 27 1/2 inches long and this
seat is only made for babies up to 26 inches in length. We have since noticed
many babies much larger than our son still in similar infant seats that
obviously are too big for the seat. No matter what seat you choose PLEASE check
the maximum wieght AND LENGTH supported by the seat. It could mean a huge
difference in your childs protection in an accident.
I am giving this seat 4 stars becuase it served us well for the first couple of
months, but I am subtracting a star because it really didn't last long. A
convertible car seat would have been a much better investment, though less
convenient in the early months.
